Musical journeys this Autumn take us across the world with evocations of England, Japan, Africa, Ireland and the Arctic.
Traditional Irish folk comes from Dervish whilst Martin Carthy and Dave Swarbrick bring the English folksong alive, a fitting finale for our first ever Folksong Day. Female vocalist Cara Dillon showcases her new album as does African guitarist Bombino, making a first visit from his home in Niger. Warming treats for the festive season come courtesy of Coope, Boyes and Fraser, Freya, whilst travel writer Kari Herbert offers insights into a chillier landscape with her perspective on the life of explorers. Finally the Inner Vision Orchestra, many of whose members graced the Paralympic Games closing ceremony in 2012, bring a melting pot of sounds from their combined forces.
