Piano Series

This year Piano Series has an international dimension and sees four artists visiting for the first time.  Pierre-Laurent Aimard, who visits in January includes Debussy in his programme whilst Gabriela Montero includes South American repertoire.  There is also an opportunity to experience her unique improvisations.   Own compositions are also a feature of Conrad Tao's programme.  This highly accomplished young artist includes his own Three Songs in a mixed programme culminating in the fireworks of Stravinsky's Petrushka.  Paul Lewis' Schubert series, a runaway success in the Spring 2011 season continues with three recitals, two solo and one with Mark Padmore performing Winterreise.

Schubert looms large for the second part of our 2011-12 Piano Series but so too does Chopin which features in the recitals by two artists who are newcomers to Turner Sims.
