ABOUT

Tedx Southampton University

SATURDAY 18 JUNE - 3:00 PM

In the spirit of ideas worth spreading, TEDx returns to Southampton in 2022!

The speaker line-up can be seen here

We will connect on Climate Change and Covid, explore ideas on the use of AI in archaeology and the psychology of bipolar disorder, dig into discussions on anti-racism and the importance of female leaders and entrepreneurs for the community, and hear about the amazing human foot, learning to love bugs, and Southampton, the migrant city. There will also be a couple of short musical performances.

During the breaks you can try some optional activities including a mini-nature walk and TV quiz show-style quizzes. The Turner Sims bar will be open throughout.

The event closes with a reception with some complimentary drinks and a light buffet, while discussing the ideas you’ve heard with each other and the speakers.

The talks will be British Sign Language interpreted. Please note that photography and recording will be taking place in the auditorium.

This is a local, self-organized event bringing people together to share a TED-like experience. TEDx events aim to spark deep discussion and connection in small groups. TEDx events are independently organized (following certain rules and regulations set by TED).
