EXHIBITION: RESONANCE | WINCHESTER SCHOOL OF ART STUDENTS

Monday 24 April – Friday 19 May

Music is a fundamental part of human culture.  Universally understood and deeply rooted in our history, it has historically influenced and been influenced by the visual arts.

This exhibition celebrates the rich relationship between music and the arts, attempting to make visual both sound and the emotions it can create.  The exhibition is comprised of the reactions of Winchester School of Art students to various pieces of music played here at Turner Sims.  At the heart of these works is the interpretation of the individual, the way in which a piece of music may strike you so personally, you think that perhaps it was written just for you. The way which music may resonate with something in your subconscious, striking a chord with you in a way it does for no one else.
