Turner Sims welcomed 320 children aged 10-13 and their teachers to this performance by American Jazz trumpeter Marquis Hill and his band.
The students came from 9 state schools in Southampton and asked questions of the musicians about their musical influences and routes to becoming international performers. The schools’ concert was delivered in partnership with Southampton Music Hub who led a participatory session that connected the performance to classroom learning.
