EXHIBITION | Four Sight

Monday 12th November – Thursday 20th December 2018

Maureen Riley
I am a painter and printmaker. I have a BA hons from Winchester School of Art. My paintings are permanently in West Berkshire Hospital and Abacus Engineering in Newbury as well as in private homes.

Printing in all its forms extends the range of expressive marks I can make. I enjoy exploring the range of the media, most of my prints are monoprints even when using a matrix.

Boys and their Toys

Wendy Couchman
With a BA and MA in art, I work with a range of media, including print, installation and video to evoke the human experience, drawing on my background in health and social care. Currently, I am exploring the effect of the old on the new – nostalgia and memories that impact on our present experiences, like archaeological traces.

Oystercatchers

Lin Knott
I started printmaking while on my foundation course at Southampton College of Art and this was followed by a degree in printed textiles at West Surrey College of Art and Design. This led to an interest in all forms of printmaking which has continued but has become more narrative in form. After college I worked as a textile designer, with an agent in New York, selling to Ralph Lauren and Benetton amongst others but eventually I started to teach drawing and watercolours which I still do.

Living halfway between the Forest and the Sea I have become an enthusiastic observer and recorder of these contrasting environments. The ever changing atmospheres created by the weather, the light or the lack of light, the seasons, the passing of time and the memories of place are all powerful inspirations for my current monoprints. The sea is a place of arrival and a place of departures for humans and wildlife and I try to convey some of these mixed emotions in my monoprints.
