Elevating, uplifting and beautifully arranged. Jasmine Myra returns with ‘Rising’.

Following a spellbinding performance at Turner Sims in 2024, saxophonist, flautist, and composer Jasmine Myra makes a triumphant return. ‘Rising’ is the highly anticipated follow-up to her acclaimed debut ‘Horizons’, hailed as one of the finest UK jazz releases of 2022.

Firmly established as one of the UK’s most exciting young jazz voices, Myra brings her signature sound – uplifting, expansive, and emotionally rich – to new heights. ‘Rising’ is a radiant showcase of her evolution as a composer and performer: confident, poised, and deeply expressive.

The album is produced once again by Matthew Halsall and mixed by Greg Freeman (Hania Rani, Portico Quartet, Matthew Halsall). ‘Rising’ weaves together threads of influence from Kenny Wheeler, Bonobo, and Shabaka Hutchings, while carving out a sound world that is unmistakably her own – one that is at once meditative, cinematic, and profoundly moving.

...a leading light in the sound of British Jazz right now.
Jamie Cullum, BBC Radio 2
