UOS Music Presents | Hannah Williams & The Affirmations

A free lunchtime concert presented by the Department of Music at the University of Southampton.

Hannah Williams & The Affirmations shine as a force of soul, resilience, and ambition. From humble beginnings to global acclaim, their rise reflects true artistic integrity. A turning point came when Jay-Z featured their track ‘Late Nights & Heartbreak’ on his Grammy-nominated album ‘4:44′. This opened doors to worldwide tours and stages like the Montreal Jazz Festival and Tokyo’s Blue Note.

Their second album, ’50 Foot Woman’, showcased versatility, with its title track appearing in major ad campaigns and TV shows. Now, in 2025, they return post-pandemic with fresh material and unstoppable passion. They embody triumph over adversity – a soulful testament to music’s enduring power.

Hannah Williams also teaches 1-to-1 instrumental lessons at the University of Southampton. In a unique collaboration, some of her vocal students will join the band for a one-time psychedelic soul choir experience.
