More John Ireland in 2022…

Sunday 12th June is the 60th anniversary of Ireland’s death, and to mark the day Turner Sims will be hosting a Music & Earthworks afternoon. Professor Timothy Champion will speak about Maiden Castle and Thomas Hardy, who popularised its Celtic name, Mai Dun. Professor David Owen Norris and Duncan Honeybourne will play the two-piano versions of John Ireland’s The Forgotten Rite and Mai Dun. The programme will also include Finzi settings of Hardy and other music with archaeological relevance.

Full details of ticket arrangements for the 12 June event will be announced in January 2022
