From the City to the Sea

An online nature-themed, music and art wellbeing video co-created with care home staff

This Spring, Turner Sims is delighted to be involved with this immersive wellbeing video co-created with care home staff – and we need your feedback!

Researcher, artist and musician, Cindy Brooks, within the School of Health Sciences, University of Southampton, is in partnership with John Hansard Gallery, Turner Sims Southampton and the Health and Wellbeing Community Hub at the University of Southampton. They are inviting you to participate in an evaluation of a nature-themed visual art and music video resource co-created with care home staff to support wellbeing. The study is funded by the Faculty of Environmental and Life Sciences Higher Education and Innovation Fund at the University of Southampton.

Involvement in creative art and music activities plays a key role in supporting wellbeing and promoting a connection to the natural world. Yet there have been little resources focused upon the value of arts-based resources to the wellbeing of care home staff. The co-creation of the video resource with care home staff was an invaluable opportunity to address this, supporting wellbeing in co-creation but also through raising awareness through wider engagement with the resource.
