Come and be part of a joyful singing workshop led by the acclaimed John Barber, alongside local musicians from Southampton and student musicians from the University of Southampton’s Music Department.
In this workshop, you will learn and sing songs that reflect the voices, languages, and cultures of our neighbourhoods – songs that speak of migration, memory, belonging, and home. No previous singing experience is needed – just bring your enthusiasm and your voice!
All are welcome. Come make some sound, make new friends, and celebrate the power of music to bring us all home.
This event is supported by the Public Engagement with Research Unit (PERU) Fund, the Music Department at the University of Southampton, and Turner Sims, in support of Refugee Week 2025
This event is free. Participants must book a ticket.
