A musical sunrise across continents, as the music of West Africa and the inflection of Cuban jazz meet.

‘SUBA’ is a stunning collaboration between Senegalese kora master Seckou Keita and Cuban jazz virtuoso Omar Sosa.

Born from a joyful lockdown reunion, ‘SUBA’ (meaning sunrise) blends the intricate strings of West Africa with the vibrant rhythms of Cuban jazz. Joined by percussionist Gustavo Ovalles, the trio create a rich, flowing conversation in sound – no one voice dominates, yet all shine.

Sung in Senegal’s two main languages, Wolof and Mandinka, the music speaks of ancestry, spirit, and connection. It’s a celebration of roots and rhythm, of faith and freedom, of two artists who’ve travelled the world but never lost sight of home.

Join us for a concert that bridges oceans and cultures, creating a shared language through music.

Notes sprinkle down like soft snowflakes from Sosa's piano and Keita's magnificent 24-string West African kora, while percussionist Gustavo Ovalles' tasteful drumming percolates beneath the interplay of Sosa and Keita.
