Minimalist grooves. Maximum impact.

Swiss pianist and composer Nik Bärtsch returns with his long-running quartet RONIN. They present music from ‘SPIN’, their ninth album – and the first featuring new bassist Jeremias Keller.

Known for their unique ‘zen-funk’ style, RONIN blends influences from funk, classical music, and Japanese ritual sounds into something truly original. Their music is built on hypnotic patterns, evolving grooves, and a deep sense of rhythm.

‘SPIN’ finds the band looking both forward and back. The signature RONIN sound – tight, rhythmic, and meditative – is still at the core, but infused with fresh energy and playful freedom. There’s a new lightness in the music, a sense of exploration within its clear structures.

Expect intricate detail, subtle shifts, and a sound that touches on indie, post-rock, and ambient pop. It’s jazz, but not as you know it – music that invites you to listen closely, move gently, and get lost in the groove.
