Southampton University Sinfonietta and Chamber Choir Spring Concert

Mozart’s Requiem

Southampton University Chamber Choir and Sinfonietta explore two sides of the classical era under the dynamic baton of Ben Qureshi.

The evening will open with Beethoven’s 1st Symphony and Schubert’s Overture in the Italian Style; Sinfonietta will take us on a journey, culminating in Mozart’s Requiem – the composer’s iconic, mysterious final work. Join us as we explore the beginning of one great journey and the end of another.

Our orchestra will be the Southampton University Sinfonietta. Accompanying them will be the Southampton University Chamber Choir: the university’s most prestigious choir, comprised of 28 skilled singers.

Leading both groups is Ben Qureshi, a skilled conductor and an alumnus of both societies. Having graduated top of his class, Ben has returned as the Musical Director of the Chamber Choir, pushing the group to excellence as his passion and leadership continues to shape these societies.
