Join us for The Vibe Lounge, a 40-minute free performance in our intimate foyer space, taking place just before the concert in the main auditorium.

DJ Jack Pudding brings to the Vibe Lounge an intense soundscape connecting the hypnotic rhythms and alien sounds of electronic dance music with the melancholic and reflective instrumentation of modern classical, ambient and drone music.

Jack Pudding is the alter-ego of artist or ‘everyday tourist’ Bevis Fenner. After graduating from a practice-based PhD in Fine Art and Human Geography at University of Southampton, Bevis continued to explore the relationship between art practice and the practice of everyday life, through painting, sculpture and performance.

Bevis uses the pseudonym of Jack Pudding whenever they are engaged in performative work, including performance art and experimental DJ projects, such as their recent ‘Church of the Sad’ performance, which was a reaction against the cult of the DJ and the fact that club culture is often driven by money, power and hedonism. The idea of ‘Church of the Sad’ was to create a space for the feelings that are denied in the grifting, self-publicising world of the jobbing DJ: sadness, melancholy and loss.
