Free music industry workshops for 18–25 year olds at Turner Sims

Ever wondered what’s actually happening backstage? Learn the basics of technical production from a professional sound engineer. What’s the difference between a rider and a riser? What are the different roles backstage and what do they all do?

Join us at Turner Sims – the University of Southampton’s music venue – for a series of free practical workshops introducing careers and skills in live music venues.

Workshops are booked individually so you can mix and match the ones that interest you. If you take part in at least one workshop you will have the opportunity to apply for a paid role supporting events at Turner Sims.
