USV Community Choir
Singing brings people together and that's exactly what USV does.
University of Southampton Voices (USV) is a community choir open to everyone: students, staff, alumni, and singers from across the city and beyond. Supported by the University’s Music Department and Turner Sims, our home on Highfield Campus. USV formed in 2012 and has grown into a warm, welcoming community of 80-90 singers – a bridge between the University and the city.

Sing with us – no experience needed
You don’t need to have sung before, or to read music – just a willingness to give it a go. We provide real voice recordings of every part, so you can learn by ear as well as from the score.
Despite our relaxed approach, we perform to a high standard. USV has given around 30 concerts of ambitious programmes with outstanding soloists and live musicians, filling Turner Sims for our performances.
Our Musical Director
USV is led by Harvey Brough, composer, arranger and Principal Teaching Fellow in the University’s Music Department, who also leads community choirs Vox Holloway (London) and Vox Populi (Leamington Spa).
Rehearsals
We rehearse Wednesday lunchtimes 1.10pm – 1.50pm at Turner Sims, January-May and September-December, with two concerts a year.
Rehearsals for this project begin on Wednesday 23 September, 1:10pm – 1:50pm.
The first two sessions are open to everyone – come along, borrow a score, and see how you get on. No commitment, no charge.

Membership Registration and Score
If you decide to stay on as a Choir Member after the first two open sessions, the Membership registration fee is just £25* including your own copy of the musical score.
*University of Southampton students can register for free.
