You, Me and Debussy: Thursday 17 September, 6pm

Step into a living, breathing musical performance and hear how sound can shape our spaces, our perceptions and even our relationship with the past.

Connect with 19th century music in a modern way as you experience a performance carefully created by Drew Crawford (Department of Music, University of Southampton). Using two pianos across different spaces, Drew will immerse you in reimagined melodies inspired by one of the great French composers, Claude Debussy.

Afterwards, you’ll hear about how neuroscience, deep listening and our awareness of the environment interact to create this unmissable immersive encounter. Prepare yourself for a performance that feels both electronic and organic, familiar and estranged.

Call me, Mother Nature: Thursday 17 September, 8pm

A

Get your glad rags on and get a front row seat, it’s time to meet Mother Nature!

Bizaah Arts CIC brings you a musical-comedy like no other, starring Mother Nature as the keynote speaker at the Ecosystem Service annual conference. There, she sets out two futures, one where humanity solves climate change and one where, well, we don’t – yikes.

But Mother Nature has a vision of a better future for everyone that will keep us all on task and united in our goal, or will it? What happens when she is challenged on her vision? Can she reclaim control of the narrative, or will the challengers take control of her? Using puppets and participation, this anarchy style show gives voice to the environment, to technology and to Mother Nature herself.

This event will involve adult language, simulations of physical violence, and discussions of climate anxiety. The content is not appropriate for anyone aged below 16.

This event is free. Book your ticket here
