Christmas films are made to be watched together, on the big screen. We’ve transformed Turner Sims into an enchanted woodland cinema, the ultimate setting for your favourite festive films.
Every screening begins with a 15-minute live performance of classic Christmas songs on piano and vocals, the perfect way to get into the festive spirit. Then, as the lights go down, snow falls in front of the screen and ‘Miracle on 34th Street’ begins.
Before the remakes, there was the original, and it’s never been bettered. Edmund Gwenn won an Oscar for his Kris Kringle, the kindest, most convincing Santa ever put on screen, alongside a young Natalie Wood as the little girl who’s been told not to believe. Black and white, full of heart, and as charming now as it was in 1947. A rare chance to see a true Christmas classic as it was meant to be seen: on the big screen, with a room full of people.
A multi-instrumentalist in high demand for live piano, J has played jazz festivals across Europe, including Montreux and North Sea, and UK festivals from Glastonbury to Boomtown. He has performed at Ronnie Scott’s and on BBC Two’s Later… with Jools Holland, and worked with Dolly Parton and Usher.
A sought-after vintage jazz, blues and soul singer from the South of England, Katie combines a rich, versatile voice with her own style of storytelling, giving a contemporary sound to much-loved songs of yesterday.
