An intimate world of beautiful melodies and moving harmonies, underpinned by Hoiby’s groove driven bass.

Danish-born double bassist, composer, and bandleader, Jasper Høiby has left an indelible mark on the European jazz scene. Hailing from Copenhagen, Denmark, his musical journey began in the vibrant and culturally rich environment of the city.

It was in Copenhagen where he laid the groundwork for his remarkable career, ultimately founding one of the most influential jazz trios in recent memory: Phronesis. This influential group redefined expectations of the modern piano trio. That grounding in structure, risk and collective momentum sits at the core of his latest project, 3Elements.

2026 has seen the release of ‘Conversations of Hope’ on Edition Records. It is the third album from Jasper’s piano trio, featuring exceptional Spanish musicians, Naíma Acuña on drums and Xavi Torres on piano.

The music moves fast and hits hard, shaped by clear melodic ideas, shifting time signatures and an acute sense of space. Acuña’s precise, driving detail and Torres’ harmonically focused piano language connect tightly with Høiby’s bass-led writing. They create music that feels urgent, physical and alert to every change in direction.

Experience their remarkable chemistry and interplay live.
