Italian classical pianist Federico Colli brings a unique voice to the classical stage. His performances and recordings are described as both miraculous and multidimensional.
For his second full concert appearance at Turner Sims, he brings Dance of Life. From the irresistible third movement of Schubert to the grotesque dance in Mozart Turkish March, from the evocative folklore in Albeniz to the refined perfection of neoclassical Ravel, this program based on dances embodies three centuries of music.
Federico is praised by The Daily Telegraph for ‘his beautifully light touch and lyrical grace’. Gramophone describes him as ‘one of the more original thinkers of his generation.’ He has rapidly gained international renown for his imaginative interpretations, clarity of sound, and philosophical approach to music-making.
Federico has performed as a soloist with many of the world’s leading orchestras. These include Filarmonica della Scala, Royal Stockholm Philharmonic, BBC Symphony, Philharmonia Orchestra, Royal Liverpool Philharmonic, Warsaw Philharmonic and Mariinsky Orchestra. He has worked with conductors such as Valery Gergiev, Vladimir Ashkenazy, Yuri Temirkanov, Vasily Petrenko and Sir Mark Elder.
