Fidel The Musical Gala Event

Doors open 4.30pm for 5pm start. Free Cuban cocktail included in ticket price.

Music students across the UK have been writing songs for a brand new musical about Fidel Castro and the Cuban revolution (www.fidelthemusical.org), and we have some fantastic entries. In this event we perform some of the best and ask you the audience to choose which ones should be in the musical with the help of a professional panel of musicians and songwriters. So this is a musical by the people for the people!

We want everyone to have a fun evening and learn a little about Cuba in the process. Light refreshments and a free Cuban cocktail (or soft drink for under 18s) are included in the ticket price, with the bar open for extra drinks. There is a 20 minute interval and expected finish time is approximately 8pm, with bar open till 10pm)

We are hoping to arrange local television/radio/online coverage of the event to enable wider participation from those who are not able to attend in person.

Will we discover the next Andrew Lloyd Webber? Will we hear the next Don’t Cry for me Argentina? ‘Will Southampton’s scholar’s Fidel the musical prove to be the next Evita?’ (Mathhew Reisz, Times Higher Ed).

Be part of the Fidel the Musical journey.
