A celebration of five Brazilian musical legends

Renowned saxophonist and composer Iain Ballamy leads this supergroup, all of whom share a lifelong fascination with the vibrant music of Brazil.

The band perform covers from the greats, and original compositions created in the spirit of Ivan Lins, Milton Nascimento, Tom Jobim, Joao Bosco and Hermeto Pascoal. Experience a range of Brazilian musical styles, the art of group jazz improvisation and mesmerising interplay between band members.

Iain Ballamy has spent over 3 decades spent transcending musical genres and stereotypes forming strong relationships with musicians around the globe. He’s worked with many cutting-edge figures of today’s contemporary jazz scene performing worldwide. On several occasions he has performed with legendary Brazilian multi instrumentalist and composer, Hermeto Pascoal.

Currently professor of saxophone at London’s Royal Academy, and the Guildhall school of music and drama, he’s led workshops and masterclasses in many top conservatoires.

Fascinada (Spellbound) features a stellar band, including extraordinary BBC Young Generation Artist guitarist Rob Luft, ECM recording artist pianist Huw Warren, the top contemporary bassist Conor Chaplin and highly regarded percussion powerhouse Will Glaser.
