SCWB are excited to be back at Turner Sims performing for you. They present an eclectic collection of music with a common thread of song and dance.

Holst’s Second Suite in F has four movements, all based on English folk songs. Each different from the other, when else do you get to hear a tuba and piccolo duet? Irish Tune from County Derry by Percy Grainger features beautiful part-writing for both woodwinds and brass, highlighting each family in turn. This is so much more than Danny Boy (the lyrics of which were a relative latecomer to the melody)! Barker’s Broadway Showstoppers speaks for itself. Hear these, and many more, in this highly entertaining concert.
