Southampton Youth Orchestra open their season with an exciting concert for all ages.

Whether you’re a seasoned concert-goer, a classical first-timer or a young person with a love for stories, conductors Kevin Withell and Charlie Mann will lead you through a dark tale of a stormy seaside town in the form of Ethel Smyth’s Overture to The Wreckers, the exotic characters of Bizet’s Carmen and the adventures of Norwegian folk legend ‘Peer Gynt’, immortalized in music by Grieg.

The concert finishes with Tchaikovsky’s musical retelling of Shakespeare’s tale of love and loss in his Romeo and Juliet Fantasy Overture.
